SAVING PDFs
PREP YOUR FILE
To avoid potential problems when sending us files, the following steps are recommended before you create your PDF:
- 1. Flatten your file: If your file contains multiple layers, it will increase the chances that we may have a problems with your file. Reducing your file to a single layer will help to prevent this.
- 2. Remove hidden elements: Hidden layers or objects can cause issues. Removing all of the hidden elements can help prevent potential problems.
- 3.Flatten transparency: Depending on how the transparencies were created and the type of PDF output, these objects may print in such a way that is not desired.
- 4.Color modes: Make sure your colors are selected to the appropriate mode. For example, if your end product is a full color CMYK print, make sure your colors are ALL set to CMYK (including transparencies).
- 5. Rasterize your file: If your file is a complicated vectorized image with transparency, a simple solution is to take the image into Photoshop and rasterize the image.
GOLDEN RULE: ALWAYS SAVE YOUR PDF AT THE HIGHEST QUALITY FOR OPTIMUM PRINT RESULTS. THIS IS USUALLY "PRESS QUALITY" IN MOST PROGRAMS.
